December 7 Concert

Our first evening concert of the year is approaching quickly. All Band students need to arrive at 6:45pm in their uniforms. One of the benefits of going to the polo shirts is that we do not need to meet over an hour before the concert.

The concert starts at 7:00 pm and will feature these groups: Jazz Band, combined 6th Grade & 7/8 Intermediate Bands, and the 7/8 Advanced Band. It will last about 50 minutes.

Uniform Shirts have been ordered, and should arrive the week of Nov. 30. Cost is $12.10 per shirt.
Each student must also provide Black dress pants, Black dress shoes, and Black socks.

Laser Quest Follow-up

30 CMS Band Students took over Laser Quest for 6 hours overnight on Saturday, November 21. When all the donations and pledges are turned in, we should have a profit of about $1000 for the Band.

Special thanks to Jeff Buffkin, Martin Herford (fantastic karaoke rendition of "My Girl"), and Brian Ulbright for being chaperones.

Please turn in all remaining funds ASAP.

Veteran's Day Assembly

On Tuesday, November 10, at 9:45am, the CMS Advanced Band will perform as part of the Veteran's Day Assembly. Please dress in "patriotic" red, white, and blue for this performance. Parents, friends and family are invited to attend the assembly, which will last for about 45 minutes.

There will be a very special guest speaker, and performances by the strings and choir as well.

Hope to see everybody there. I could still use a couple of parent helpers for Tuesday night.
